Nearly all students (98.99%) qualify for free or reduced lunch, putting Monroeton among the district's highest-poverty schools. Even so, chronic absenteeism is just 24.1% — far better than the 36.5% district average and nearly equal to the state's 24.2%.

Recent test scores offer several bright spots. Fifth grade math proficiency jumped from 36.6% to 57.1%, reading rose from 35.4% to 51.2%, and science climbed from 32.9% to 59.5%. Fourth grade math is also a standout at 67.9%, above the state average. Outcomes improved sharply for African American and low-income students, who now perform near the 41st–43rd percentile statewide.
