Meadow School is a public PK–8 school in Benson, NC, serving 646 students in a rural part of eastern North Carolina. It is part of Johnston County Public Schools and, unusually for the region, teaches children on one campus from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade while most neighboring elementary schools stop at 5th grade. About 98% of Meadow students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, a level of economic need very similar to that of other schools in the area.

Meadow's strongest test results come in the middle grades. In the most recent school year, 7th-grade math proficiency reached 87.7% and 8th-grade science reached 84.1%, both well above district and state averages. Rankings over the past decade also show clear progress: Meadow was a 2-star school in the late 2010s, climbed to 4 stars between 2021 and 2024, peaking at the 77th percentile, and now carries a 3-star rating at the 60th percentile. Among nearby schools, that places Meadow in the same upper-middle range as Benson Elementary and Four Oaks Elementary, just behind Hobbton Elementary and Midway Elementary, and well ahead of West Smithfield Elementary and Dunn Elementary, which rank in the lowest quarter of schools statewide.
