Lillington-Shawtown Elementary is a PK–5 school in Lillington, NC, serving about 695 students in Harnett County Schools, making it one of the larger elementary schools in its immediate area.

This is a school that is clearly moving in the right direction. Lillington-Shawtown has climbed from the 13th percentile statewide in 2022–23 to the 26th percentile in 2025–26, a steady four-year improvement that stands out among nearby high-poverty schools in Harnett County Schools. The most impressive story is with Hispanic and English Learner students, who rank in the 62nd and 87th percentiles respectively — far above the school's overall performance and a sign that supports for multilingual learners are working well. Chronic absenteeism has also dropped dramatically, from 44% in 2021–22 to 25% in 2024–25, which is now below the district average and only slightly above the state average. Compared with similar local schools, Lillington-Shawtown outperforms Coats Elementary in nearly every subject and grade, and beats Erwin Elementary in most measures. However, South Harnett Elementary, which serves a similarly high-poverty population, posts stronger results in 4th and 5th grade math, 5th grade reading, and especially 5th grade science.

This school SUCKS! Principal don't speak proper which makes no sense for them to have someone like that over the school!!! For the two yrs my child has been he they've had the same exact two sheets for homework every night!They have a grade for Science and Social Studies on report card,but neither year have I ever seen work or books for the two!!!If u want your kid to be uneducated send them here!!!
