Williams Township is a PK–8 public school in Whiteville, North Carolina, within Columbus County Schools, serving 659 students from the surrounding rural community. Although nearly all of its students come from economically disadvantaged families, the school has become a relative bright spot inside a district that overall earns just a 1-star state rating. Williams Township itself holds a 3-star rating and sits at the 50th percentile statewide (741st of 1,492 schools), its highest ranking in more than a decade.

The school's position has climbed steadily from the 32nd percentile in 2018-19, pointing to a genuine improvement trend rather than a one-year blip.
