D F Walker Elementary in Edenton, NC, serves 368 students in grades 3 through 5 as the upper elementary campus for Edenton-Chowan Schools. It operates alongside White Oak Elementary (grades PK–2), and because it is the only district campus that tests grades 3–5, its results essentially define the district's academic standing. Nearly every student (99.18%) qualifies for free or reduced lunch, placing the school among the highest-poverty schools in the region.
