As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school came onto the scene with a vision and a principal willing to work around the clock to bring cohesion and success. This was an outstanding place for my homeschooled son, with some attention issues and negative precious public school experiences, to re-enter the school scene. The emphasis on both technology and the arts is great for him. His 6th grade schedule was heavy with specials time. There was lots of movement which helps keep him engaged. He had freedom to sit in different places, collaborate with students and chat with teachers. The teachers all use a method of re-taking tests and quizzes and resubmitting projects to ensure that the students all learn the material and have a chance at success. The school counselor is outstanding and made a fantastic connection with my son. When Covid hit, Discovery made a seamless transition after one day of teacher meetings, and was up and running virtually without a hitch. Uniforms are casual, sporty and comfortable for all bodies with tons of choices for the kids. This school has been a great place for my son the feel successful and realize that he is a very smart person. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
