Tar Heel School

Tar Heel School is a Pre-K–8 public school in the rural community of Tar Heel, North Carolina, serving about 449 students in the Bladen County Schools district, where the vast majority of students come from low-income families. The school's 1-star rating and 22nd-percentile statewide rank place it in the bottom quarter of North Carolina schools, though that does represent an improvement over the previous year.

Tar Heel's clearest strengths appear in the early grades and in its attendance numbers.
