Summary

Loyd E Auman Elementary is a public elementary school in Fayetteville, North Carolina, serving grades PK-5 with a total enrollment of 488 students. The school is part of the Cumberland County Schools district, which is ranked 144 out of 242 districts in the state.

Academically, Loyd E Auman Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom half of North Carolina elementary schools over the past decade, with proficiency rates in Math and Reading below the district and state averages. However, the school's performance on 5th grade Science assessments is closer to the district and state levels. The school's diverse student population includes significant representation of African American, Hispanic, and White students, and their academic outcomes vary significantly by subgroup.

Loyd E Auman Elementary serves a high-poverty community, with over 99% of its students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. While the school's per-student spending is slightly higher than the district average, its student-teacher ratio is lower than some nearby schools, such as New Century International Elementary and E Melvin Honeycutt Elementary. The school's persistent academic challenges and achievement gaps suggest the need for targeted interventions and support to improve outcomes for all students.

Open Quote The school overall was ok, my daughters teacher was a great teacher academic wise, but was too strict on the students as far as behavior. My other daughter teacher was good, I feel like she taught her everything she needed to go to the next grade Close Quote
