Summary

Sherwood Park Elementary is a public elementary school in Fayetteville, North Carolina, serving grades PK-5 with a total enrollment of 327 students. The school is part of the Cumberland County Schools district, which is ranked 144 out of 242 school districts in the state.

Sherwood Park Elementary has shown a mixed performance in academic test scores compared to the district and state averages. While the school has performed better than the district and state in some subject areas and grade levels, it has also struggled in others. For example, the school's 3rd-grade math proficiency rate was significantly higher than the district and state averages, but its 4th-grade math proficiency rate was lower. The school's performance in reading and science has also been variable, with some grade levels performing above the district and state, while others performing below.

One of the school's strengths is its performance for certain student subgroups, particularly African American students and students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. These students have ranked highly compared to other elementary schools in the state. However, the school's performance for white students and students with disabilities has been relatively weaker. Additionally, Sherwood Park Elementary has a very high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, indicating a high concentration of students from low-income families. Open Quote i am very disappointed in the EOG test scores and the failure to meet AYP.The morale of the school is a reflection of the administration..The principal needs to resign.Apparently he can't motivate staff and students.Enough isn'tbeing done to help the low performing students. It just doesn' look good. What is he going to do to improve so that the staff and students get the very best? The administation is responsible for the success at Sherwood Park Elementary. Close Quote
