I love the motto on the back of my teacher ID: “Every decision. What is best for children? Every time.” And I believe the success of this school district is because as teachers, administrators, counselors, etc., we all keep that in mind. Gulfport High School students can achieve high academic performance as well as have plenty of activities in the performing arts, technology, medical field, athletics, and many more programs that will suit the students’ needs regardless of their financial and family situation. I have been teaching in the strings program at Gulfport School District for the past eight years and I have seen the students grow from 4th grade all the way to their senior year in high school and seen them improve in their playing to the point of even wanting to major in music and audition for orchestra scholarships that can range between $2,500 and $8,000 per year. There are very few string programs in the State of Mississippi and we would not have one in Gulfport if we did not have a great combination of responsible students, committed parents, and dedicated administrators. I hope you consider Gulfport High School, you will not be disappointed. Close Quote
