Summary

Mississippi Heights Elementary is a K–5 school serving 808 students in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, part of the Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools district and the largest of the district's two elementary schools in the St. Cloud area. It currently ranks 502nd of 869 Minnesota elementary schools — 42nd percentile, 2 stars — well below its peak of roughly the 55th–58th percentile in 2018-19 and 2020-21. Class sizes average about 15 to 1, and about 36% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Academically, the school's clearest strength is math: 46.7% of students were proficient, above the state's 44.9% and well above its own district. Reading (47.0%) is roughly at the state average, while science (17.4%) trails the state's 25.5% — though much of that drop reflects a new, harder state science test, and the school was level with the state under the older one.
