As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I havetwo Woodland graduates, one in college and another in HS. Woodland proudly one a MN School of Excellence Award while my kids went there (1 of 2 winners statewide), so SchoolDigger's rating of the school in the 500's is preposterous. Close Quote

Open Quote We've had children at Woodland for the last 9 years and have been so happy with the school. The administrators and the teachers are so passionate about caring for the kids and teaching them not only the basics but also how to be better people. Close Quote

Open Quote This school has poor leadership and bullying is often ignored by staff. My child was bullied and the school policy is to have the child discuss it with the bully - so essentially the victim is forced to accept an appology and the bully has no other consequence. How nice for the bully. Teachers' kids are given preferential treatment. Very clicky school. Close Quote

Open Quote My children attended Woodland for 5 years before I pulled them out to transfer to another school. While most the teachers were very good, the administration was very poor. The school lacks quality leadership. The student body is very diverse, which is why I liked the school, but the school does a poor job in closing the achievement gap - the school essentially lowers the bar so that everyone can meet their goals, instead of setting the bar high and helping all students reach their highest potential. My children were simply not learning and in fact their test scores dropped every year. As soon as they started a new school their state testing scores started going back up! I only wished I had pulled them out of Woodland earlier. Close Quote

Open Quote Woodland is a top notch school. Teachers partake in voluntary training continuously and are both friendly and well prepared. The PTA is very active- parents and families are very involved in school activities. Lots of school spirit. Parents are expected to be involved if your kids go to Woodland which is the way it should be! The staff are all well educated most with advanced degrees in education. Teachers volunteer for after school family activities and give kids extra help during their lunch or prep time- that's dedication. Technology and the arts are highly supported and the PTA purchased 2 additional computer labs for the school. The school has the Woodland Eagle Trails (WET lab) for outdoor classes and environmental studies. The PTA sponsors reading programs, math programs, music, arts, and extra staff supervision. We could not be happier with the quality of education at Woodland. They have advanced math programs and individually place students according to their ability so all students are challenged. Best school around! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
