Hawley Secondary is a grades 7–12 school serving 453 students in the small northwestern Minnesota community of Hawley, part of the Hawley Public School District. The district is ranked 19th of 458 in Minnesota (96th percentile, 5 stars), while the school itself ranks 77th of 473 in 2025–26 — still in the 84th percentile with 4 stars, but a clear step down from top-30 statewide finishes in every year from 2021–22 through 2024–25, including 8th in 2024–25.

Middle school is a standout: 7th-grade math (67.5%), 7th-grade reading (60.0%) and 8th-grade reading (62.9%) far outpace state results. High school results are solid rather than dominant, including 11th-grade math at 46.5%. Among neighbors, Barnesville High School has a math edge (74.5% in 11th grade) and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Senior High has stronger science, while Ulen-Hitterdal Secondary and Lake Park Audubon High School trail Hawley in most measures.
