Summary

Lake Park Audubon High School is a 9–12 comprehensive high school serving 388 students in the small town of Lake Park, MN (population roughly 800), and it is the only high school in the Lake Park Audubon School District.

The main story here is a long decline. The school once ranked 54th of 492 Minnesota high schools (89th percentile, 4 stars) in 2018-19, but by 2025-26 it sat at 351st of 473 (26th percentile, 1 star). It actually ranks below its own district (43rd percentile), which means the younger grades are outperforming the high school — the weakness is concentrated at 9–12. In 2025-26, proficiency was 24.1% in 11th-grade math, 28.1% in 10th-grade reading, and 18.3% in end-of-course science, all below the state and below nearby comprehensive schools. There are bright spots worth noting. Science, while low, is the school's smallest gap to the state and the one subject where it edges out its own district. Low-income students ranked in the 53rd percentile with 3 stars in 2025-26 — well above the school's overall 26th percentile — suggesting this school serves that group better than it serves its student body as a whole. Graduation improved from 78.0% to 81.0% and dropout fell from 16.0% to 6.9% between 2023-24 and 2024-25, though one year is not yet a trend. Note also that the student-teacher ratio jumped to 25.5 in 2024-25, the highest among nearby schools.
