Jackson Middle is a grades 6–8 school in Champlin, Minnesota, part of the Anoka-Hennepin School District, with 2,037 students — roughly twice the size of the next-largest nearby middle school and one of the largest middle schools in the state. For 2025–26 it ranks 108th of 546 Minnesota middle schools (80th percentile, 4 stars), comfortably ahead of its own district's 60th-percentile standing.

That ranking is not a one-year fluke. Jackson Middle has earned 4 stars in nine of the past ten years and has never fallen out of the top third of the state, while nearby schools such as Coon Rapids Middle School and Noble Academy Middle School have swung much more widely. On state tests, Jackson's math (48.6%) and reading (52.9%) proficiency are both above state averages and second only to Northdale Middle among nearby schools — ahead of Osseo Middle School, Brooklyn Middle STEAM School and others. Science looks low at 16.2%, but that is the school's 8th-grade figure; compared with 8th grade statewide (16.7%) it sits right at the state level, though it trails Northdale's 22.0%.

The clearest concern is 2025–26, when effectiveness for students with disabilities (56th percentile), low-income students (64th) and students experiencing homelessness (33rd) all fell in the same year, even as the school's headline rank slipped only slightly. Every subject also declined a bit more than the state did. Science relative to Northdale Middle and that recent dip among the highest-need students are the two items worth watching.
