Evergreen Park Elementary-STEM is a public elementary school located in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, serving grades PK-5 with a total enrollment of 456 students. The school is part of the Anoka-Hennepin School District, which is ranked 165 out of 446 districts in Minnesota and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Evergreen Park Elementary-STEM has consistently ranked in the bottom quarter of Minnesota elementary schools for the past 10 years, with a ranking between 724-781 out of 840-872 schools. The school's performance on the MCA-III assessments is significantly below the state and district averages across all grades and subjects. This underperformance extends to various student subgroups, including Asian, African American, Hispanic, English Language Learners, and Special Education students, all of which rank in the bottom quarter of Minnesota elementary schools. The school serves a high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, with 75-83% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages.

When compared to nearby schools, such as Monroe Elementary School - MSE and Stevenson Elementary, Evergreen Park Elementary-STEM consistently underperforms on the MCA-III assessments, with significantly lower proficiency rates in both math and reading. While Evergreen Park Elementary-STEM has a relatively low student-teacher ratio, ranging from 11.4 to 13.4 students per teacher, this advantage does not seem to be translating into improved academic outcomes for the school. Addressing the root causes of Evergreen Park Elementary-STEM's underperformance, such as teacher training, curriculum, and targeted interventions, may be necessary to improve the school's performance and provide a high-quality education for all its students.

Open Quote My child attended K-5 here. She has had the most wonderful teachers. She is also on an IEP, the teachers and school in general have been amazing making the needed modifications for her to do well. They have advocated for her and been great with keeping me up to date on how she is doing. The staff has been truly remarkable. Bullying issues are dealt with immediately. The curriculum of world studies has been great, she has learned about different cultures and how we are all connected in different ways. They start Spanish in Kindergarten and the children have so many great opportunities to shine and learn. I love the staff and the school and would recommend it to anyone looking for a diverse school of learning. Close Quote
