Summary

Marine Area Community School is a public charter elementary school serving 126 students in grades K-6 in Stillwater, Minnesota. The school is part of the Marine Area Community School District, which is ranked 297 out of 446 districts in the state and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Academically, Marine Area Community School's performance on MCA-III tests is generally below the state average and the performance of nearby public schools like Lake Elmo Elementary, Andersen Elementary, and Lily Lake Elementary, which often exceed 50% proficiency in both math and reading. The school's performance is particularly low in 5th grade math, where only 14.29% of students were proficient, compared to the state average of 42.94%. However, the school's performance for special education students is relatively strong, with the school ranking in the top third of Minnesota elementary schools in this category.

Interestingly, the nearby New Heights Elementary School, another public charter school, has significantly lower academic performance than Marine Area Community School, with proficiency rates in the 20-30% range for both math and reading. This suggests that Marine Area Community School may be performing better than other charter schools in the area, but still lags behind the performance of nearby traditional public schools. The school's relatively small size and low student-teacher ratio may be contributing to its stronger performance for special education students, but the overall academic performance indicates there is room for improvement in addressing the needs of all students.

Open Quote This school won't teach anything that doesn't revolve around its tiny town. It has lied to its shareholders. All of the good teachers have left or were removed for having out of the box ideas. Go anywhere else but here. Classrooms have mold buildings are falling apart it's a tough place to be.
