The West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan district serves 10 schools — five elementary, two middle, and three high — with total enrollment of 5,231 students (1,940 elementary, 1,546 middle, 1,745 high). The high-school count includes the comprehensive Two Rivers High School (1,710 students) plus two very small specialized programs, Branch Out Transitional Services (grade 12, 29 students) and Aspen House Education Program (grades 5–12, 6 students). The district is ranked 134 of 458 in Minnesota, at the 71st percentile with 4 stars — but that single rating masks wide differences between schools.
Somerset Elementary is the clearest standout: 5 stars, 51 of 869 elementary schools, 94th percentile, with 77.7% math and 68.4% reading. Mendota Elementary follows at 4 stars, 85th percentile, 70.7% math and 61.9% reading. Among middle schools, Friendly Hills Middle (4 stars, 78th percentile) outperforms Heritage E-Stem Magnet School (3 stars, 58th percentile) in every grade. Pilot Knob Stem Magnet School improved from the 40th to the 63rd percentile despite a 54.78% free/reduced-lunch rate, and Garlough Environmental Magnet rose from 1 to 2 stars.
