Waconia Public School District serves elementary students at three PK–5 schools — Southview Elementary with 544 students, Bayview Elementary with 530, and Laketown Elementary with 530 — a combined elementary enrollment of 1,604. The district is ranked 27th of 458 Minnesota districts, in the 94th percentile, with a 5-star rating, and all three schools beat the 2025–2026 state averages in math (44.9%), reading (48.6%), and science (25.5%).

Laketown Elementary is the clear standout. It ranks 52 of 869 schools (94th percentile, 5 stars) and has held the 92nd–94th percentile with 5 stars for three straight years. It posts the group's highest all-grade scores in all three subjects — math 74.9%, reading 68.8%, science 43.0% — the highest 5th-grade math, reading, and science results, and the lowest free/reduced lunch rate at 10%. Southview Elementary has a split profile: it leads in 4th-grade math (81.2%, the highest single math score here) and 3rd-grade reading (67.5%), but its 5th-grade math falls to 50.0%, 24.7 points below Laketown. Bayview Elementary has the best student-teacher ratio (12.1) and reached 5 stars and the 90th percentile in 2024–2025 before slipping to 84th percentile in 2025–2026; its 3rd-grade reading of 52.0% trails the district's 59.3%.

Math softened at all three schools from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, with Southview down 2.48 points, Bayview down 3.48, and Laketown down least at 1.61. Science rose at Laketown (+6.55) and Bayview (+1.12) but fell at Southview (−3.66). The widest gaps between schools are in 5th grade and in science. Enrollment and staffing ratio do not track simply with outcomes, so parents comparing schools should weigh grade-level results, not just school-wide averages.
