Summary

Fountain Elementary School is a public elementary school in Roseville, Michigan, serving 270 students in grades PK-5. The school is part of the Roseville Community Schools district, which is ranked 513 out of 613 districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Fountain Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom quarter of Michigan elementary schools over the past 10 years, with a ranking between 1091 and 1335 out of around 1500 schools. The school faces significant challenges, including extremely high chronic absenteeism rates, well below average proficiency rates on state assessments, and a high percentage of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Despite spending significantly more per student than the state and district averages, Fountain Elementary's academic outcomes remain poor.

Interestingly, the nearby Ruth H. Green Elementary and Joseph G. Steenland Elementary schools in the Roseville district also struggle academically but generally outperform Fountain Elementary on test scores and other metrics. This suggests that Fountain Elementary may face unique challenges beyond the district-wide issues.

Open Quote My 5 year old son (Kindergarten) has had such wonderful experiences here! He attended Huron Park for Pre-K and I chose to enroll him at Fountain because of the positive reviews as well as my experiences with the Principal and staff during recruitment programs we attended here. I am so impressed with the family-like atmosphere, attentiveness and compassion I've witnessed from the staff here. I'm VERY happy with my choice. His teacher, Mrs. Clulo, is so positive, energetic and uplifting. I recently volunteered in the classroom and her disposition was not only effective, but infective...if you know what I mean. Every one of the children seemed engaged, happy, well-adjusted, and fully focused on everything Mrs. Clulo was doing. The Principal, Ms. Bucci, is very active with the students, reading to them at lunch-time, playing with them during recess, helping out in the classes throughout the day. This is a wonderful, powerful team and I couldn't imagine placing my son anywhere less. Close Quote
