Dakota High School is a large, comprehensive public high school in Macomb, MI, serving 2,476 students in grades 9-12 as part of the Chippewa Valley Schools district. It has earned a 4-star rating from the state for ten consecutive years, never dipping below the 73rd percentile in statewide rankings—a track record of steady, reliable excellence that makes it a cornerstone of the community.

Academically, Dakota is the clear leader among the district's traditional high schools. In the most recent rankings, it placed 199th in Michigan (75th percentile), far ahead of Chippewa Valley High School, which ranked 393rd (51st percentile). The gap is especially wide in math: 34.5% of Dakota's 11th graders are proficient on the SAT Math, compared to just 21.3% at Chippewa Valley.
