Stacy Middle is part of the Milford school district, which is ranked 270 out of 356 districts in Massachusetts and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Stacy Middle's academic performance, as measured by MCAS Next Generation test scores, is generally lower than the state averages and the nearby schools. In 2022-2023, the school's proficiency rates in English Language Arts (34.27%), Mathematics (22.57%), and Science (23.32%) were all below the state averages. Additionally, Stacy Middle's statewide ranking among Massachusetts middle schools has declined over the years, from a high of 130 out of 441 schools in 2014-2015 to a low of 357 out of 497 schools in 2021-2022, with a current ranking of 330 out of 501 schools in 2022-2023. The school's performance varies significantly across different student subgroups, with White and Hispanic students performing lower than their peers in nearby schools like Ashland Middle, Robert H. Adams Middle School, and Hopkinton Middle School.

Stacy Middle also has a relatively high student-teacher ratio, ranging from 11.5 in 2022-2023 to 13.5 in 2020-2021, which is higher than the nearby schools. This, along with the school's lower spending per student compared to some nearby schools, may be contributing factors to its academic challenges and could be an area for further investigation. Addressing these issues through targeted interventions, resource allocation, and a focus on equity could be crucial for improving the school's educational outcomes and providing a high-quality learning environment for all students.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Stacy Middle School offers a wealth of program and services to meet the needs of all students. The teachers, staff and administration is caring. Its a diverse community of learners. My children have enjoyed their experience there and as a parent they have been responsive to all my requests and needs. I enjoy the fact that students have an opportunity to take on leadership roles at an early age. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
