Compared with neighbors, O'Donoghue outperforms the Brockton middle schools (Ashfield, Plouffe, South) and Taunton's John F Parker Middle in most subjects, despite those schools spending more per student. It sits near Whitman Middle and same-district Raynham Middle at the 48th percentile, but far behind Easton Middle (83rd percentile, 4 stars), which has smaller classes and higher spending. O'Donoghue's student-teacher ratio rose from 13.6 to 16.5 over three years, and results for several student groups, including English Language Learners and special education students, now rank below the school overall. Its best asset is 6th grade math; its most urgent need is upper-grade achievement.
