Summary

Raynham Middle School is a public middle school serving 746 students in grades 5-8 in Raynham, Massachusetts, which is part of the Bridgewater-Raynham school district. While the school has a relatively low student-teacher ratio, its academic performance, as measured by MCAS test scores, is generally below the state average and the performance of surrounding schools like Easton Middle School and Berkley Middle School.

Raynham Middle School's proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science are all lower than the state averages, and the school's statewide ranking has fluctuated over the years, ranging from 122nd out of 484 middle schools in 2017-2018 to 253rd out of 501 in 2022-2023. This inconsistent academic performance is concerning, and the school's leadership and the Bridgewater-Raynham district should closely examine the root causes and develop a plan to address them.

Additionally, Raynham Middle School's performance varies significantly across different student subgroups, with the school performing well for African American students but struggling with Hispanic and disabled student populations. This suggests that the school may need to address equity and inclusion issues to ensure all students are receiving the support they need to succeed.

Open Quote As a former student, I can say without a doubt that the school's administration was awful. The same goes for some of the teachers, the learning environment was very poor and classrooms were often illy prepared for the class size. Teachers had a difficult time controlling rowdy students and the administration gave unconventional and stupid punishments. Close Quote
