Summary:
The 41011 list includes three schools serving prekindergarten through grade 12: two elementary schools, Ft Wright Elementary School (PK–5) and John G Carlisle Elementary (K–5), plus Transformational Learning Center (K–12 alternative). The elementary schools have comparable test results in grades 3–5, but the area’s results are uneven. Most importantly, in 2025–2026 Ft Wright was above the state in every reported grade-subject result and outscored Carlisle in all nine results they share.
Ft Wright is the clear elementary standout: its average across the nine shared results was 60%, compared with 40% at Carlisle, a 20-point gap. For example, Ft Wright scored 71% in grade 5 editing and mechanics, versus 43% at Carlisle and 48% statewide. Carlisle has the weaker overall elementary profile, falling below the state in eight of the nine shared results, but its grade 5 math score was a bright spot at 55%, compared with 43% statewide. SchoolDigger ranks Ft Wright in the 87th percentile statewide with four stars, versus Carlisle in the 39th percentile with two stars, for 2025–2026.
Results declined from the prior year across the same nine comparisons: Ft Wright’s average went from 63% to 60%, while Carlisle’s went from 45% to 40%. Across both schools, the average advantage over the state narrowed from 10 points to 6. There are subject-level exceptions: Ft Wright’s editing and mechanics improved from 69% to 71%, but its writing score fell from 55% to 40%; Carlisle’s grade 5 math result remains a notable strength. The schools’ 2024–2025 student-teacher ratios were similar—12.3 at Ft Wright and 12.8 at Carlisle—and free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 56% and 82%, respectively. Transformational Learning Center had a 5.3 ratio and 95% free/reduced lunch eligible in 2024–2025; its 2025–2026 chronic absenteeism was 41%, compared with 24% statewide. Its listed test scores are suppressed, so achievement comparisons here are limited to the elementary schools.
