Summary

Warren Elementary is a public elementary school located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, serving grades PK-6 with a total enrollment of 704 students. The school is part of the Warren County School District, which is ranked 64 out of 157 districts in Kentucky and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Despite the school's high per-student spending and relatively low student-teacher ratio, Warren Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom quartile of Kentucky elementary schools over the past decade, with a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school significantly underperforms the Warren County and Kentucky averages across all grade levels and subject areas on the Kentucky State Assessments (KSA), with proficiency rates ranging from 16% to 29% in reading and only 19% in 3rd-grade mathematics, compared to 44% and 43% for the district and state, respectively. Warren Elementary's performance is particularly concerning in subjects like science, social studies, and writing, where proficiency rates are often less than half the district and state averages.

Interestingly, the nearby Briarwood Elementary and Cumberland Trace Elementary schools in the Warren County district, as well as schools in the Bowling Green Independent School District, such as Potter Gray Elementary and W.R. McNeill Elementary, significantly outperform Warren Elementary across all academic measures. Despite the school's challenges, Warren Elementary has not shown any significant improvement in its performance over the past decade.

Open Quote Warren Elementary is one of the most culturally diverse schools in the Bowling Green/Warren County community. They have the highest English as a Second Language and Special Education population in the area. Teachers work hard to meet both the basic needs and educational needs of students. The Free/Reduced Lunch graph on this site is grossly inaccurate as the percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch is well into the 90% range. Close Quote
