Zip code 67860 has three public schools serving Lakin students from prekindergarten through grade 12: Lakin Elementary (290 students), Lakin Middle (182) and Lakin High (212), for 684 students total. The 2025–26 all-grades results show a mixed picture: science averages across the schools were close to the state level, while average ELA and math results were lower. The most serious concern is Lakin High’s reported 2023–24 graduation rate: 44%, compared with 90% statewide, a gap of 46 percentage points.
