Hocker Grove Middle is a public school in Shawnee, Kansas, serving grades 7–8 and 714 students in the Shawnee Mission area. In 2025–26, its proficiency rates were above Kansas averages in English language arts (ELA), math and science, but below district averages in all three. The key takeaway is that being above the state does not mean keeping pace with nearby schools: Hocker Grove ranked second-lowest among five same-district schools in ELA and math, and lowest in science.

Compared with nearby schools, ELA is Hocker Grove’s strongest subject and science its weakest: ELA proficiency was 49%, 11 points below the nearby-school average of 60%; math was 45%, 13 points below the 57% average; and science was 41%, 15 points below the 56% average.
