Halstead has one high school, Halstead High, serving grades 8–12 and enrolling 240 students, so there are no other local high schools to compare it with. In 2025–26, its all-grades math and science proficiency rates were slightly above state results, while ELA was notably lower. The clearest concern is ELA: 38% of students were proficient, compared with 46% statewide, an 8-point gap.
