Oakley has three schools serving 456 students across prekindergarten through grade 12: Oakley Elementary (PK–4), Oakley Middle School (5–8), and Oakley Senior High (9–12). The most important finding for families is that achievement varies considerably by school and subject, so Oakley does not have one consistent academic profile.
Oakley Elementary stands out in English language arts (ELA), with 54% proficient—8 percentage points above the state’s 46% and the only school above the state in the all-grades comparison. Oakley Senior High leads in math at 58%, 17 points above the state’s 41%. At the other end, Oakley Middle School has the lowest all-grades ELA and math results: 32% and 28%, respectively, about 14 and 13 points below the state. Middle leads the two schools reporting science, at 25%, but remains 13 points below the state; High is at 17%, 21 points below. Grade-level results add important exceptions: Elementary fourth-grade math is 25%, 19 points below the same-grade state result, while Middle seventh-grade math is 55%, 17 points above.
Recent trends are mixed: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, Elementary ELA rose 5 points while its math fell 5; High math rose 7 points, but its ELA was nearly unchanged, and Middle science fell 6 points. SchoolDigger’s statewide ranking percentile rose from 40 to 45 for Elementary and from 30 to 41 for High between 2023–24 and 2025–26, while Middle fell from 54 to 27. Staffing and income measures offer context, not explanations: High has the lowest student-teacher ratio at 8.7, while Middle has the highest free/reduced-lunch rate at 58%. With only three schools, these comparisons are best read as school-specific patterns rather than broad explanations of results.
