Over the past 10 years, Warren Central High School has consistently ranked in the bottom quarter of Indiana high schools, ranging from 299th to 358th out of 380-429 schools. The school struggles across various student subgroups, ranking in the bottom 25-30% for female, male, African American, Hispanic, and multi-racial students. Its performance for English Language Learners and Special Education students is particularly concerning, ranking in the bottom 20-25% of Indiana high schools. The school's proficiency rates on standardized tests like ILEARN, SAT, and ISTEP+ are significantly below state and district averages, and it has experienced high chronic absenteeism rates and low graduation rates.

When comparing Warren Central High School to nearby schools, it performs significantly worse than most of them. For example, Beech Grove Senior High School and Purdue Polytechnic High School Ind both outperform Warren Central across various metrics, including test scores, graduation rates, and student subgroup performance. Despite the school's challenges, its per-student spending has increased, but this has not yet translated into significant improvements in student outcomes, suggesting the need for a more comprehensive and sustained approach to address the school's systemic issues.
