East Tipp Middle School is a grades 6–8 school serving 547 students in Lafayette, Indiana, part of the Tippecanoe School Corp. English language arts is the clearest strength: 63.98% of students were proficient, about 12.5 points above the district. Sixth-grade ELA (67.11%) and eighth-grade ELA (67.02%) both far outpace district and state results. Attendance is a major differentiator. East Tipp's 5.9% chronic absenteeism rate is about half the district's and one-third the state's, and the lowest among same-district peers: Southwestern (14.3%), Wea Ridge (11.8%), Wainwright (8.1%), Klondike (9.2%), and Battle Ground (7.7%). East Tipp has the lowest free/reduced-lunch rate nearby (23.95%) and the second-lowest per-student spending ($9,635), yet the largest class sizes — a student-teacher ratio of 18.7, up from 16.6 two years ago. Battle Ground (25th) and Klondike (40th) rank just ahead. West Lafayette Intermediate posts higher math and science scores and 4.0% absenteeism, but serves grades 4–6 and spends far more per student. Lafayette Tecumseh and Lafayette Sunnyside trail by wide margins, while Delphi Community Middle and Carroll Junior High have lower absenteeism but much lower ELA and math proficiency.
