In 2025-2026, it ranked 45th of 1,015 Indiana elementary schools — the 96th percentile, and its best statewide standing in ten years of records.

Compared with nearby schools, New Britton's 74.69% ELA proficiency is the highest of the eleven schools we examined, edging out the two Carmel Clay standouts, Prairie Trace Elementary School (73.98%) and Cherry Tree Elementary School (66.85%), and leading Lantern Road Elementary School by 18.2 points. It is also the most balanced performer in the group: ELA and math are only 1.36 points apart, where Lantern Road shows a 24.6-point math-over-ELA gap. Chronic absenteeism is low at 5.4%, below the district (7.3%) and the state (16.7%), even though its free/reduced-lunch rate (32.69%) is the third-highest in the comparison set. In short, it performs like schools serving more advantaged populations.

Two things are worth watching. Third-grade math is the only grade-level metric where the school trails its district (71.43% vs. 74.03%), and its student-teacher ratio (15.3) is mid-pack among HSE peers despite having the group's highest per-pupil spending ($12,517). Meanwhile, enrollment and poverty have risen as achievement rose — ELA is up 17.6 points over four years and absenteeism has roughly halved in two — so whether that momentum holds is the key question for families.
