Summary:

Schools in zip code 61832 include seven schools in Danville CCSD 118, from elementary through high school, enrolling 233 to 1,253 students. Six schools report IAR results; Danville High School reports ACT and PreACT results instead, so its scores are not directly comparable. Across the six IAR schools, the average all-grades results were 31% in ELA and 19% in math, compared with state results of 56% and 40%. The most important finding is that Northeast Elementary Magnet School is a pronounced exception to the generally low local proficiency results.

Northeast Elementary Magnet School led the IAR schools with 52% proficient in ELA and 44% in math; its math result was 5 points above the state result. In contrast, South View Upper Elementary School had the lowest results, at 23% in ELA and 7% in math—30 and 37 points below Northeast, respectively. Edison Elementary School was the next-highest performer in both subjects, with 37% in ELA and 22% in math. SchoolDigger’s 2025–26 statewide rankings also set Northeast apart: it ranked in the 46th percentile, compared with Edison in the 18th, Mark Denman Elementary School in the 4th, and Liberty Elementary School and North Ridge Middle School in the 2nd.

Recent results improved in ELA at all six IAR schools: their average rose 5 points from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while the state result rose 3 points. Math progress was more uneven: Northeast gained 12 points, but Edison fell 4; two schools were unchanged. As context, the schools’ 2024–25 free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 69% at Northeast to 95% at Mark Denman. Northeast’s student–teacher ratio was 18.2, compared with 12.5 at Edison; these figures describe differences among schools but do not explain their test results.
