Summary

North Ridge Middle School is a public middle school in Danville, Illinois, serving 697 students in grades 7-8. The school is part of the Danville CCSD 118 district, which is ranked 783 out of 811 districts in the state and has a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger.

North Ridge Middle School has consistently ranked in the bottom quarter of Illinois middle schools over the past decade, with a current ranking of 1262 out of 1368 middle schools in the state. The school significantly underperforms compared to state averages in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics proficiency, with only 19.4% of students proficient or better in ELA and just 7.8% proficient in Mathematics. Additionally, North Ridge Middle School has an extremely high chronic absenteeism rate of 43.1%, indicating a significant challenge in student engagement and attendance.

While North Ridge Middle School struggles academically, the nearby South View Upper Elementary School, which serves grades 5-6, performs slightly better in both ELA and Mathematics proficiency. This suggests that the academic challenges may intensify as students progress through the middle school grades. Despite the school's high per-student spending of $19,996 in 2023-2024, the additional funding does not appear to translate into improved academic outcomes, raising questions about the effective allocation and utilization of resources.
