As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have enjoyed working at WVHS for the last 15 years. Our high academic standards and diverse student body prepare students for the experiences/challenges they will face after graduation. Many graduates write us e-mails or stop back and tell us how prepared they feel in college (compared to their peers) because of the rigor they experienced in their classes at WV. Close Quote

Open Quote Waubonsie Valley High School has the MOST amazing staff I have ever encountered as a parent. My child attended both high schools in the IPSD 204 school district and I can say that Waubonsie's staff goes way above and beyond Neuqua's. The staff at Waubonsie are experienced, attentive, and approachable. None of which I experienced at Neuqua. I believe that the test scores do not show the true experience that is Waubonsie and I firmly believe that within the next 5 years that will change.

Waubonsie Valley High School is within a district that does not give this school it's due. Neuqua Valley High School is the focus in IPSD 204 and therefore has given Waubonsie Valley High School an inferiority complex. The facilities at Waubonsie get neglected while Neuqua remains state of the art. IPSD 204 just built another high school. They spent about $150 million dollars to build a new, unneeded high school all while ignoring the needs of Waubonsie. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
