ZIP code 60502 has five schools serving elementary, middle and high school grades: Gwendolyn Brooks Elementary, Nancy Young Elementary School, C I Johnson Elementary School, Francis Granger Middle School and Metea Valley High School. All five were above their corresponding state results in reported 2025–26 tests. Across the elementary schools, the clearest relative strength is math: their average was 68% proficient, 28 percentage points above the state, compared with 74% in ELA, 17 points above state.

C I Johnson leads the elementary schools overall, with 75% in ELA and 69% in math, and stands out in grade 5 science at 85%, versus 71% at Brooks and 67% at Nancy Young. Its grade 3 ELA result, however, is lowest at 61%; Nancy Young leads that grade in ELA (74%) and math (76%). Overall, elementary results are close: Brooks is lowest in all-grades ELA and math, but Nancy is only 0.4 percentage points higher in ELA and 0.1 points higher in math.
