Summary

Lincoln Junior High School serves 628 students in grades 6–8 in Skokie, Illinois. Its 2025–2026 results show a clear contrast: eighth-grade science proficiency was above the state rate, but all-grades English language arts (ELA) and math proficiency were below state rates. Most importantly, Lincoln’s ELA and math results were lower than those of all six nearby schools serving the same grades.

Lincoln’s strongest comparison with the state was eighth-grade science: 57% were proficient, compared with 52% statewide. Yet that result was below every nearby school with an eighth-grade score; peers ranged from 61% to 83%. In ELA, Lincoln had 53% proficiency, versus 56% statewide and 51% in Skokie School District 69. In math, its 37% was below the state’s 40% and the district’s 38%. Its 2024–2025 student-teacher ratio was 11.6, compared with a nearby-school average of 11.0; 62% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible that year, the highest rate among nearby schools with comparable figures. SchoolDigger’s group rankings also point to areas of concern: the school ranked at the 1st percentile for Asian Students and the 7th percentile for Multi-racial Students in 2025–2026; the latter group’s ranking fell from the 72nd percentile in 2023–2024.
