Summary:

The four schools in Skokie School District 68 serve kindergarten through eighth grade: three K–5 elementary schools and one grades 6–8 junior high. Among the elementary schools, average 2025–2026 proficiency was 57% in ELA, 1 percentage point above the state, and 47% in math, 7 points above the state. At the junior high, math was 9 points above the state while ELA was 2 points below. Across these schools, math is the more consistent strength compared with state results.

Highland Elementary School stands out in all-grades results, leading in ELA at 60% and math at 54%; those results are 4 and 14 points above state rates. Devonshire Elementary School is at the other end, with 51% in ELA and 38% in math—5 and 1 point below the state. Grade-level results add important detail: Highland and Devonshire differ by 28 points in fifth-grade ELA and 25 points in fifth-grade math. Jane Stenson School leads elementary fifth-grade science at 60% and has 74% in fifth-grade ELA. At Old Orchard Junior High School, eighth-grade math and science are 14 and 12 points above state rates, while eighth-grade ELA is 13 points below.

Recent results are mixed rather than rising uniformly: Jane gained 5 points in both all-grades ELA and math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while Highland fell 7 points in ELA and 5 in math; Old Orchard’s ELA fell 9 points even as its math rose 8.
