The data reveals that Kennedy Middle School significantly underperforms compared to the Rockford School District and the state of Illinois in standardized test scores. In the 2024-2025 school year, only 10.6% of students were proficient or better in English Language Arts, compared to 32.8% in the district and 53.1% statewide. Addressing the underlying issues at Kennedy Middle School, such as the high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds and the extremely high chronic absenteeism rates, could be crucial in improving outcomes for students at the school.

Open Quote I think the school is okay but if the school board would let us not to wear uniforms we would be better,we wouldnt get distracted by our clothes. The school board hasn't heard our side of the story and is making us tuck in our shorts we dont think its right to us as a school .
