Streamwood High School is a grades 9–12 school in Streamwood, Illinois, serving 1,890 students in School District U-46. The most pressing concern is chronic absenteeism: in 2025–26, 47% of students were chronically absent, compared with 30% in the district and 24% statewide.

Academic results are generally below nearby, district, and state comparisons, although ninth-grade science is a relative bright spot. In 2025–26, 11th graders met ACT proficiency benchmarks at rates of 34% in English Language Arts (ELA), 25% in math, and 30% in science. The teachers and administration is very poor. There are some teachers that are absolutely amazing but from personal experience they dont prepare you enough for college.
Most of the study body is in a gang or in a gang related group of friends. They harass fellow student and fights are common.

I would highly recommend that any parent who is thinking about sending their student to rethink their decision. There are other options in the community. I transfered out of Streamwood high school my sophomore year to St. Edwards and it was by far the best decision of my life!! Close Quote
