Summary

West Carroll High School in Mount Carroll, Illinois, serves grades 9–12 and enrolls 245 students. English language arts (ELA) is its relative academic strength, but it still trails the state; mathematics and science are larger concerns. In 2025–2026, 11th-grade ACT proficiency was 41% in ELA, 21% in math and 26% in science, with state gaps of 9, 19 and 22 percentage points, respectively. Most importantly, the school was below Illinois in every reported subject-and-grade comparison.

It appears there is a lot of problems in this school from what my kids are telling me. The grandkids are having a lot of problems and are losing interest in an education.
