Silvis has three elementary schools serving a range from preschool through eighth grade: George O Barr School serves PK–5, Bowlesburg Elementary School serves K–4, and Eagle Ridge School serves PK–8; enrollment ranges from 238 to 405. In 2025–2026, all three schools’ reported all-grades proficiency was below Illinois in both ELA and math: school scores ranged from 22% to 40% in ELA and from 7% to 22% in math, compared with state results of 56% and 40%, respectively. The most important area-wide finding is that every school was below the state in both subjects, despite sizable differences among the schools.

In math, the school average declined from 19% to 16% while the state rose from 39% to 40%, also widening the average gap by 4 points. George’s fifth-grade science result was a notable exception, rising from 31% to 56% and ending 8 points above the state.
