iSUCCEED VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL

iSUCCEED Virtual High School is a large virtual school in Boise, Idaho, serving 1,290 students across grades 7 through 12. The school operates under the Isucceed Virtual High School Inc. district, which ranks in the bottom 2% of Idaho districts. The school itself ranks 113th out of 122 high schools statewide, placing it in the 7th percentile. Despite its low academic ranking, the school has one clear strength: only 4.7% of students are chronically absent, compared to the 13.8% state average. Nearby Eagle Academy (46.4%) and Capital Senior High School (30.8%) have far higher absenteeism. The graduation rate has also climbed from 62.1% in 2020–2021 to 82.5% in 2024–2025, matching the state average and well above its own district's rate.

Academic proficiency, however, is deeply concerning. Only 36.7% of students are proficient in English language arts versus 54.0% statewide, and science proficiency is just 16.5% compared to 42.7% statewide. Eighth grade math proficiency is especially striking at 6.5% against a 41.2% state average. These results are dramatically lower than nearby traditional schools. Centennial High School, less than a mile away, posts a 78.6% ELA proficiency rate, while Rocky Mountain High School reaches 85.2%. Even Meridian Technical Charter High School, about two miles away, achieves 84.6% in ELA and 79.5% in science—more than double iSUCCEED's scores.

iSUCCEED has also experienced a dramatic long-term decline, falling from an 81st-percentile ranking with a 4-star rating in 2008–2009 to its current 7th percentile. The school does outperform its sister school, iSucceed Academy, which ranks last in the state, with better attendance and higher test scores. However, with a student-teacher ratio of 23.8 and per-pupil spending around $6,828, families should carefully weigh whether the school's strong attendance and improving graduation rates are enough to overcome its persistently low academic outcomes.
