When comparing Eldridge L. Miller Elementary School to the nearby schools in the same district, it becomes evident that the school is underperforming academically. For example, Allgood Elementary School, which is located about 2 miles away, consistently outperforms Eldridge L. Miller Elementary School in the Milestones Assessments, with proficiency rates that are 10-20 percentage points higher. The school's 100% free and reduced lunch rate suggests that the student population faces significant socioeconomic challenges, which may contribute to the school's academic struggles. While the district has increased spending per student over the years, the academic performance has not seen a corresponding improvement, indicating that a more comprehensive approach may be needed to address the root causes of the school's challenges.

Open Quote As a grandparent of two students at E. L. Miller Elementary School I have seen a great improvement of the school since the new principal arrived. He has more after school programs and expected excellence from the teachers and students. I can see a NEW and EXCITED atmosphere in the school. With the parents and students help I am sure that this school can and will be one of the best. Special thanks to Mr. Gordon, Ms Benson, Mrs. James,Mr Nicholson for all their hard work. They made the classes challenging but fun for my granddaughter. I hope the principal, Mr Bryant will have continued success. Close Quote
