While River Ridge High School is a top-performing school in Georgia, ranking 34th out of 452 high schools in the state, it does not quite match the academic excellence of some nearby schools in other districts, such as Pope High School and Lassiter High School in Cobb County. However, River Ridge's consistent high performance, low student-teacher ratio, and socioeconomic factors contribute to its success and make it a highly desirable option for families in the Woodstock area.

Open Quote I am very disappointed with this school. The teachers are not engaged at all. My child never has homework & routinely comes home saying the teacher didn't teach anything, just said to do whatever they want in class. The staff is rude. Teachers yell at the kids every day and counselors think it's ok. It is beyond me why people teach or work at a high school if they don't like kids. My older kids went to a highly rated high school in Cobb. Night and day difference, let me tell you. My child already had a teacher who was new this year leave during the middle of the semester for a job at a better school. We chose the wrong school. Should have gone to Creekside. The ratings are lower here for a reason. I was hoping it was just because the school was newer. Close Quote

Open Quote What an awful school. Please do not send your child there. I graduated from there last year. They must have found the staff from downtown Atlanta and said hey you want to teach here. The staff is about is rude as they can get. The principle doesn't care about you if you're not a football player. I hate telling people I went there because it is such an awful school. If you're "popular" the teacher will pretty much take the test for you. Don't worry there is no dress code for cheerleaders. I was miserable every second I was there. The teachers will pick favorites so be sure to be it. Oh and during lunch if you need to go to the bathroom you have the magnet girl and boys passes. You may only use the restroom 3 times a week once a day (they have a chart). I would not recommend this school, unless you want your child to come home miserable everyday. Beware. Close Quote
