Summary

Learning Lodge Academy is a K-8 public school in New Port Richey, FL, serving 308 students within the Pasco School District, and it stands out for its exceptional middle school math performance that far exceeds nearby schools.

The most striking feature of Learning Lodge Academy is its middle school math program. In 6th grade, 94% of students were proficient in math, compared to the district average of 58% and state average of 60%. Similarly, 7th grade math proficiency reached 91%, nearly doubling the district average of 38%. This is a massive outlier when compared to nearby schools like Richey Elementary School and Moon Lake Elementary School, which only serve grades PK-5 and cannot offer middle school courses. The school also performs well in middle school English Language Arts, with 70% of 8th graders proficient, outperforming the district (60%) and state (60%). However, Civics EOC scores are a weak spot, with a 71% proficiency rate in 2024-2025 that matched the state average but fell below the district's 73%.

Learning Lodge Academy achieves these results with remarkable efficiency, spending just $8,923 per student—the lowest among nearby schools. For comparison, Chasco Elementary School spends $14,340 per student and Fox Hollow Elementary School spends $14,091, yet both have lower academic outcomes. The school serves a community where 51.95% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch, a notable improvement from 67.43% two years prior. While chronic absenteeism remains a challenge at 28.3%, the school's ability to produce strong results despite this headwind makes it a compelling option for families seeking a K-8 experience with a proven middle school program.

Open Quote Very terrible school. I know many parents who pulled their kids out to go back to public or other schools finding that their kids are now behind and needed extra help or to be put back a grade level. My kids started the first year the school opened and the education continually declined. The school is run very poorly and there is a lack of communication. They actually seem to try to keep parents in the dark about what is happening. They seem to care more about money than kids, families and education. Glad to be out of there and getting back on track.
