Summary

Hudson Academy is a public middle school in Hudson, Florida, serving grades 4-8 with a total enrollment of 928 students. The school is part of the Pasco District, which is ranked 40 out of 67 districts in Florida and is rated 2 stars out of 5 by SchoolDigger. Over the past several years, Hudson Academy has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Florida middle schools, with a ranking between 700-1000 out of over 1,100 schools.

Hudson Academy faces significant challenges, including significantly higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to the Pasco District and Florida averages. The school's test scores are also consistently lower than the district and state averages across various subjects and grade levels. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 26% of 4th-grade students at Hudson Academy were proficient or better in English Language Arts, compared to 54% in the Pasco District and 56% statewide. Additionally, Hudson Academy has a very high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 68.64% to 80.48% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages.

When comparing Hudson Academy to other nearby middle schools in the Pasco District, such as Charles S. Rushe Middle School and Seven Springs Middle School, the school consistently underperforms in terms of test scores, chronic absenteeism rates, and the percentage of economically disadvantaged students. While Hudson Academy has a relatively high spending per student, the school's academic performance remains low compared to its peers, suggesting that simply increasing funding may not be the sole solution to addressing the school's challenges.

Open Quote i wish i could give it 0 the teachers don't know what they are doing and the kids are out of control. I'm having so much difficulties learning and i got guilt tripped by the councilor for having anxiety. Not to mention everytime i eat the food i get sick there was also a hair in it once!!
