The school earned a 4-star rating and ranked in the 75th percentile statewide (119th of 469 Colorado middle schools) for the 2025-2026 reporting year. While that is a solid result, Mountain Ridge ranks at the lower end among its Academy D20 peers, with comparable nearby middle schools ranking between 28th and 119th statewide. The school also serves a more economically diverse population than most district peers, with 35.2% of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch.

Math achievement is the clearest area of challenge. Just yesterday the school felt it appropriate to pull all 7 the graders to a meeting and told them they were the 'worst" 7th grade class they have ever seen and advised they were going to be kicked out of Mountain Ridge and sent to a different school. My son was included in this group. He has never been in trouble and is an honor student. He came home and asked what is the point following the rules if you still are treated like the bad kids. He is right. What is the point? Why are they not dealing with the bad kids and commending the good kids. It is almost as if they take joy in breaking the good kids, as if that is the true mission.
