The school holds a 4-star rating and ranks 136th out of 943 Colorado elementary schools, placing it in the 86th percentile statewide. Rockrimmon has been consistently strong over the past decade, earning 5-star ratings and 91st–92nd percentile rankings in the two prior school years. While the 2024–2025 year brought a temporary dip to the 77th percentile, the most recent data shows a clear rebound to the 86th percentile.

Rockrimmon's academic profile is solid across the board. In the latest testing, 64.6% of students were proficient in ELA and 63% in math, both well above state averages (44.7% and 37.3%, respectively). Science is a genuine standout: 61.8% of 5th graders are proficient, compared to just 36.1% statewide, and the school has held science proficiency above 60% for four consecutive years. Perhaps most impressive, Rockrimmon's low socio-economic status students rank 8th out of 319 schools statewide — the 97th percentile — despite roughly 24% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. The school also posts a chronic absenteeism rate of 14.6%, down from 18.8% the prior year and well below the district rate of 19.7% and state rate of 28.4%.

Within the district, Rockrimmon is a strong performer, though the closest comparable school, Foothills Elementary School, currently edges it out in ELA (71.6% vs. 64.6%) and science (66.2% vs. 61.8%), with math essentially tied. Meanwhile, Woodmen-Roberts Elementary School posts nearly identical ELA scores but trails in math. The one area to watch is 4th grade: ELA proficiency dips to 53.2%, well below the district average of 64.3%, though grades 3 and 5 both exceed district averages. Rockrimmon also operates with a higher student-teacher ratio (16.5) than many neighboring schools, yet continues to outperform most of them academically — a sign of strong instructional efficiency.

Open Quote This school is poor, at best. Some teachers could care less, and the principle is horrible. I just switched to a new school. I had a ton of complaints, that I told the new school about. They retested my child and found that none of the scores that Rockrimmon was putting on my childs report card were true. All of the test score were about half of what Rockrimmon teachers put. I think there is something fishy going on, there!!! Close Quote

Open Quote If you wantyour child to learn how to take tests, fil in a bubble and never think outside the box, this is the school for you. Though there are a few strong teachers, the leadership is rude and dissmissive of parent concerns. Not 1 library or tech class in 3 years. Close Quote
